New Paint for the outside ….

The day we bought this house I knew we would paint it… It was painted the one color I don’t like… ick! blue! After 12 different colors on the siding and asking everyone what the thought.. We finally made up our minds. We are very happy with it… and we love the new lights and new gate. New roof next year.. and new front door soon. .

I guess I can say I have a beach house now.. ( wouldn't that be lovely ) When I am in Vancouver and talking about home I have to say Beach House so everyone will know where I am talking about.

I have gone to a couple of home shows with my cousin for ideas of whom to call when we need something done on the Vancouver house. Karen and I have gone to home depot, lowes, and we dragged my Phyllis with us to a couple of furniture stores and bathroom stores. We stopped at a deli in Portland called the Elephants Deli and it is my new favorite lunch place to go. Check it out if you are ever in Portland.

Needless to say last week was a bit crazy with the earthquake in Japan.. tsunami warnings here and in Hawaii.. we had several friends in Hawaii that were evacuated I was in Vancouver at the time and I was a bit stressed that I was not home with Robert. I know he had his hands full with everything that he had to do.. but when something like this happens you want to be with your loved ones. Robert was up all night and day, they ended up evacuating the lower level of Seaside.

I feel so bad for the people in Japan and all they are going through. Please think of them, we had it so much easier than them and they are having to go through all this fear of the nuclear plants now.

I am going to try and keep posting I dont know why it has been so very hard for me. blah blah blah with as much as I like to talk you would think I could... :)

My Goal for this year is to have a much healthier year... What is yours?

Because of my constant illness we have come to realize that we will not be able to retire on the Oregon Coast.. when Robert retires we will have to move inland. I was gone for several days a couple of times this past year and I breathe much easier. We do love it here so much... we definitely will be coming back for long weekends. No we wont be leaving right away. I will just have to go inland a little more, and make sure I am on top of my meds.

It is hard to leave we have had such a good time, but if we must leave I am glad the weather is turning rainy... lol

We are actually heading to the Tri Cities for my Nephews wedding.. It will be so much fun to see everyone and yes we miss our puppies so much. Thank you sister for loving them and taking care of them for us.

We had a beautiful day today.., Tracey and Ray arrived with a truck full of food... lol... just kidding Tracey. We walked down to the Village and shopped and had coffee.. Ray and Tracey took us to dinner at the Keg and it was so good.. I have to confess Canada does have tasty beef :) Thanks for a great day.

I woke up to partial sun today and that was lovely.. I did somethinngs around the house and then met my daughter AnneMarie in Longview Washington so I could pass her new vaccuum to her... I told her I would pick it up for her so she wouldnt have to pay taxes. We had a quick dinner and then off to starbucks :)

I have my fabric all washed for the baby quilts I need to get made asap.

Rain Rain Go Away.....

The weather here has been so dismal for almost the entire summer... it was really getting to me.. so I left town for a couple of weeks... I went to The Tri-Cities, to see my family and soak up the sun. It was wonderful I am not one to sit out in the sun... but I was out there every day. In a little less than two days I was really feeling the change in how I felt. I stayed there for a little over a week, it was in the high 90's there. I then went to Tacoma to help my daughter with her girls... and just to sit in the sun again... I went for walks with the girls and her dog.. I got out every chance I could.

After awhile my sweet husband asked me when I was going to return home.. I asked him if the sun was shinning he said NO... .I told him I was not coming home... lol. But I did :) and it was ugly. I was able to deal with it tho... I had enough sun that I was ok... several days of gloom and then today we had a little bit of sunshine... then rain tonight.

Hubby is on a retreat with his work... they are bonding.. lol... they are doing white water rafting. I am glad he is tho... he said for the first time since our move to the coast that the weather was getting to him. I am praying we are going to have sun before fall sets in.

I dont think I am going to be able to post photos... blogger is being a stinker tonight. UPDATE: I finally was able to get this photo uploaded... so this is what we have been dealing with for most of the summer.

I can't remember if I mentioned that Bug was having seizures or not... he will be four years old this October and he just started having seizures the vet has been monitoring him to see how it was going... this last month he has had four so she started him on phenobarbital poor little guy.. he started being frightened when he had them.. it makes you feel so bad just like when your children were little and helpless. He appears to be doing fine now I pray this takes care of the seizures.

It is crazy windy here again and it is on my last nerve.

Poor Robert is never sick and he has been home for several days getting through a cold.

Tuesday it was a crazy stormy day... and it appears we are going to have the same type of day today. DH went in to see what he could do to help and he stayed out until 2:30am , when he got home he was beat and soaked. We had a major flood on 101 and they shut it down for a bit.

We call this Lake Safeway... come by sometime and take a dip.

I heard a loud boom but couldnt find out where it came from and I found out this morning that the glass in our patio table was lifted out and thrown on the ground... I am so glad he did not go through the window or land on a car... yikes. It is way too heavy to pick up so that was some powerful wind.

Quiet Reading Day

I really had a nice relaxed quiet day today.. I am finally feeling a bit better and I have a lovely friend that sent me probably ten years worth the quilting magazines. I enjoyed sitting and reading through as many as I could I loved seeing how things have changed. I am looking forward to taking another class as soon as I find one locally.

Amy you get snow don't you? I do miss that.. while we were in Whistler I enjoyed it very much.

Rain Rain Go Away.....

My gosh....I have been not well for so long.. and today was my first time out in a very long time. It was actually sunny today Robert ran to Home Depot and Costco so I went along with him. By the time we returned home the rain started up again.. it is just beginning and I am already sick of it.

It has been raining hard and non stop some times. The poor dogs have not wanted to go out in it and I don't blame them at all. When it is really bad I have been putting papers down in the garage and encouraging them to go there..ummm they look at me like what the heck..but they finally give in and do their thing and thankful to not have to go out on the soggy lawn.

Dont get me wrong.. I love it here but sometimes the rain gets to me.

On our way to Home Depot I snapped this with my phone.. we are so excited to be getting a larger Costco it opens on the 25th of this month, notice the rain started again.

We were talking yesterday maybe we should go check out Arizona in a couple of months and see how I do in the drier climate, not that we would move there but we could live there part time.. when it is really wet here. I have noticed on HGTV they were mentioning that it was cheaper there also, so we will see.. that might be the answer. Have a great day.

Whistler BC

Ok.... we sat for about 10 minutes or so at the entrance.. we stop and they question all of us and take our passports.. then they tell us to drive up to the building close and lock our car up.. then go inside.. we were there for an hour. They had us sit down for more than 30 minutes then called us one by one to go up there and they questioned us.. well almost everyone (but me).. I guess I look like a little old lady.

Then they asked for Roberts truck keys and went and searched our car then came back and asked us all the same questions like 2 or 3 times. Not bad really we were just tired and wanted to get to our room.

So we went back out to our car I turned my phone on and it told me that I would be charged 15.92 per kb ... I have no idea what that pertains to so I shut that puppy of so fast... I will call ATT tomorrow and see what the heck is going on.

Jade and Deb's condo is awesome.. I will share photos soon. we ordered Indian food in... oh my gosh... Karen I feel spoiled having in twice in two weeks. oh yum. Deb headed to bed and the rest of us are chillin for a little bit.

A new start...

Boy where did the summer go? We had a great time when we went to Branson for Robert's mothers 80th Birthday.. the heat and humidity was a bit much for me but I still had a good time. My mother in law and family had a good time also.
We saw many many fields of corn it went on forever.. lol

We went to the Butterfly Palace and that was amazing.. you have to go through double doors going in and out.. so you have time to make sure there are not any butterflies trying to leave with you. Before you entered the room with the butterflies you had to watch a 3D movie I was swatting at the ones that were coming near my face.. it was really something to see.

One of the photos below is a butterfly that landed on my brother in law Dennis and one landed on my shirt.. I walked all around in there with that little guy sitting on me.. People would ask if it was ok if they took a picture.

Shirley's Birthday.. This was a great looking gift shop on the way to the lodge.. I love the landscaping.

This is the lodge where we ate dinner.. it was lovely, the food was great and the staff was superb.

There were a couple of spots in the road where they made it look like you were driving through a creek.

of course here is a photo of the birthday girl.

A restaurant down by the water (Branson Landing water front) It is called Cantina Laredo it was my favorite place.. yes we went back for more.. the guacamole was made at your table and the food was fresh not greasy, our waitress was the adorable. The remaining photos are of the view from the restaurant.

Kalven’s grandparents day….

This is going to be a little out of order, but it has been so busy and with computer problems I have photos all over the place.. I will start with Kals grandparents day because I have the photos right out of the camera.

What a fun time we had… Kal’s school in such a pretty spot.. and a lovely drive to get there.. but I thought better of showing pictures and putting the name on the internet.

They had a nice lunch out side and it was sunny and warm.. we also had home made ice cream. We played (the kids) and enjoyed chatting, then they had to get back to business as usual.

I headed back to town and checked a few stores out and then when 3pm hit I went and picked up Kalven and had a wonderful conversation with him.. He is such a funny kid.. he has a funny personality like his dad.. really both the boys do. Thank you Kalven for a great day!

Ok… I have to go and get ready before hubby gets home.. he wants to go buy some fencing and get the fence done for the puppies.. no this is not a huge project, it is a small do it yourself fence I will show photos later.

Still in Kennewick… Storms a brewin…

I will really be home soon… it has been so busy with visits and Graduation. The night before Graduation..this is what it looked like not a great pictures but look close and you can see the sand and wind… I remember what I didn't enjoy about living here.

The sand was blowing so hard it was getting under my contacts. Things were blowing all over the places… We were shopping and carts were flying everywhere in the parking lot.

Graduation..

It was busy and fun… My sister had a Dessert get together after for family and friends. Oh my gosh it was sugar overload... but they had a great time. She had a chocolate fountain with Strawberries , marshmallows, cookies, pretzels, funnel sticks, bananas you name it and it was dipped in chocolate.. Also served was punch, coffee and cheese cake.

It is so hard to believe that my niece is going to be 18 years old. After they were all sugared up.. lol.. (poor teachers).. the kids took off for their senior party.

I am sorry I have not gotten back to everyone... It has been a bit busy here and I have been gone a lot with personal things to take care of. Praise GOD things have settled down with those things. I promise I will email when I get a chance I am trying to get my house in order. I have over 400 emails and I am slowly going through them as I clean house from company and being out of town. I do want to thank you all for the prayers they worked. I cant discuss online how things went but I am glad that it is over. My daughter is doing so much better. More later... Hugs Joy

He is going into surgery this morning.. This is what his momma would love for you to pray for..

Would you pray that Dr. A will have wisdom as to if he should move forward with the ablation after the esophageal study? If he does move forward, would you pray that he will have clarity of mind as far as how aggressive to be with the ablation in order to fix Stellan's problem without putting him at undue risk for complications. Would you pray that the tiny catheters the doctors use will not nick Stellan's coronary artery? Would you pray for peace for me and my husband? Would you pray that heart block will not occur during the surgery? Would you pray that the extra pathways Stellan has will be located and successfully destroyed? Will you pray that, if they need to go through his septum, that it will heal as it should? Would you pray that in the days after the surgery (In infants, coronary damage sometimes doesn't appear for up to three days, so we'll be here for the rest of the week at least it looks.) we will cling to Jesus and not to fear?

I had to run around and get things done today, and it was so beautiful. It is suppose to rain in the morning when I take off for Las Vegas… Please say a prayer for me I am getting nervous , I am so wanting to get over the fear of flying. I haven't flown in 15 years. I have heard that if you don't like the weather…

At the beach … wait a few minutes it will change… and it sure did this weekend… we had rain… we had huge hail… we had snow… we had grey sky… and we had beautiful sunshine. Here is a picture of the hail.. I didn't get one of the snow.. that was about 3am and I didn't feel like going out and taking a picture.

We finalized our trip to Las Vegas.. so my friends… please pray for my sister and I we are terrified of flying. My sister has never flown in her life. and in my fifty something *grin* years I have only flown 4 times. We are excited and nervous at the same time.

There is five of us going.. my sister, her best friend.. our cousin .. and our sister in law.

We haven't firmed up anything yet.. as to what we are going to do.. I know my cousin and I want to sneak off for 2 hours and go to a quilt shop that is suppose to be awesome.

I would like to get tickets to see O, Cirque du Soleil's exquisite aquatic performance.

We are going for my sisters 50th BD. She really wants to go on a gondola ride at the Venetian Hotel also.

I should get a little rest as I am volunteering at the hospital today.

I haven't posted in such a long time.. I really have not been into it much since mom passed. I am feeling like I would like to start again.. so I started out to do that tonight when I decided to change the look of my blog from Christmas. It is amazing how much time that can take.

Just a couple quick things since I am so tired.. Robert and I spent the afternoon working on cleaning and organizing the garage again.. it felt so very good to purge again. We are trying to get ready to set up my office/sewing/craft room. Sunday or Monday we will go to Ikea for a desk that I found there, they have a sale going on that goes through Monday.

Also we had the pleasure of babysitting the cutest little girl.. Robert called and told me that a little girl needed to be taken care of until Monday or Tuesday and he said we could if I wanted to.. here is a couple of photos of her.. Bug loved her and they are having a wonderful time playing nonstop. She looks very small next to him in the photo but it is just the angle. They are about the same size but he has more width *grin*

Her name is Chula and she is the cutest and the most lovey girl. I wish that we could keep her. I know that Bug will cry when she leaves.

Oh and one other thing.. I finally took my Christmas tree down today also.. wow.. that was a chore but I enjoyed it. All of the ornaments were wired on... because remember I bought it at the Festival Of Trees and they have to make sure that everything is secured on the tree so that when it is delivered nothing falls off. I was able to get it all boxed up and ready for storage wooo hooo.

oh and one more one more thing... My mom's Birthday is next Sunday so my sister thought she would come down and spend the weekend with me. I am really looking forward to her being here.

You wouldn't believe it by the snow photos.... I don't know what made me look out the window at 1:30am but I did and I couldn't believe how it was snowing... we usually get snow and it will last for about a day and a half. We have had snow since Sunday and now it is really coming down again. I must tell you that it does make my heart sing... I love love love it.

These are taken at night so they aren't the greatest and I lightened the snow ones so you could see them better.

The first one was around 5:30pm before I left for bunco... and the snow ones were like I said at 1:30am I am hoping that the roads will be drivable later so that I can take some photos by the beach.

Festival of Trees

We went to the Festival of Trees.. it is an event/auction that is put on by our local hospital to raise money for large items that they need. Last year we didn't go because the storm we had knocked the power out of the whole city for 6 days, and we couldn't go on the date that it was rescheduled because we had another engagement. Needless to say the auction this year is to buy a emergency generator for the North Coast Clinic.

It is always a lot of fun and the trees are beautiful... they have a silent auction on wonderful gifts and wreaths... then a beautiful dinner and then a live auction for the decorated trees and of course it is never just a tree, many of them come with extras such as dinners and gift certificates, also nights in resorts etc... you can spend a lot or a little and then at the end of the night you can buy the center piece on the tables.

I really did have a good time seeing people I had not seen for a very long time, my favorite artist Jeffrey Hull and his wife were special guests because one of his pieces was being auctioned off, it was awesome to see how much it went for.

Thank you to everyone that has let me know they are still praying... Thank you so much for my friend Barb... whom always checks up on me and always has such sweet things to say to help me get through rough times.

Thanksgiving was quiet.. I truly loved and enjoyed my son and his family being here there is still every once in a while the sadness would sneak in and grab me.. thank GOD those boys are so funny and would get me out of it. I know it will take time but I do know I am being carried through it even when I feel overwhelmed with grief.

I love this photo.. I did not take many.. but this one makes me smile.. his daddy use to do the very same thing when he was his age.

My sweet little grandsons blessed there grandma with a virus they had... I am fighting it and Robert is taking very good care of me. As soon as I can get past the headache and sore throat I am going to start working on a rag quilt for a Christmas gift.. I am still struggling with my moms passing, I am trying but I am really having a hard time getting back into doing anything. But it was really good for us to go babysit.. we had such a good time... we took the boys to the park we had never been there before.. it was really beautiful and they had such a good time. They ran and jumped and wore them selves out. It was so hard to believe that on the other side of the trees was I-5 freeway.They loved the leaves jumping and throwing them. We took them for a hot chocolate after, then to see their dad at the fire station on the way home. We said hello and then Jade had to run to a call so we grab a shot as he went by. lol... he scared us to death honking the horn like we were in the way as he went by. We really enjoyed seeing every thing that Jade and Deb had done to their home.. every time there is something else they have done... they are so awesome at DIY and their yard is changing all the time also.. I enjoyed helping Jade and the boys plant bulbs. I cant wait to see all the flowers when they start popping up.

Robert has been very busy... I do not know how the man finds the time to do all he does.. he has had to work the road because of people on vacation and illness and this year he is President of Rotary... and has his fingers in many other things. We are going to take a week and go somewhere by ourselves as soon as we can make a decision of where. :)

Our sweet little granddaughter "D" sent me a picture of her teeth she lost.. it was a cell phone so not the best.. but she looks so cute and she is so proud.
I had to show you what I sent the the kids.. I found something like this on the internet and I thought it would be fun to do for the kids... they really look so much cuter in person... Robert and I filled them with candy.

I am heading up to Washington for the weekend... I am going to watch my two little grandsons for the weekend and they keep calling to see if I am on the way.. cracks me up.

Robert is going to come up tonight and spend a day with us.

The weather has been beautiful, cold but beautiful.

I have made the decision that I have to get myself going and start scrapbooking.. my goal is to try and do a page a week and if I can more. wish me luck!

I went to the hospital today... I felt it was time for me to get out of myself and go do some volunteer work.. I was so nervous about going out ... I knew I would cry when I saw my friends that work there. soooo... I did and they loved me.. and told me it was ok to cry.. and it was good. I got some work to do that I actually can do from home for a couple of days. oh yea!! and those brats grabbed hold of me and made me get a flu shot, they said that my immune system is really run down and I needed to do it... ackkkkkkk!! but hey I didn't even feel when he gave me the shot.

This is a picture of mom exactly one year before she passed.. we were on our Alaskan Cruise.

Last weekend was the scheduled memorial for mom. Roxane arrived Friday and everyone else arrived throughout the day on Saturday. For those who arrived early, they were treated to breakfast as we visited and many took turns going to the beach. The weather even cooperated and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

Before the memorial, we all met at McKeown's for dinner , we had the back room all to our selves. It was a nice gathering and we toasted mom. You had to be there to appreciate the toast but we were all sure mom was smiling.

After dinner, it was off to the Cove for the memorial. This was a special place for mom and a fitting place to scatter her ashes. As we all gathered, we had a moment of silence and then everyone has a small part of mom's ashes and scatted them along the rocks. ok... now don't freak out... but I scattered my dogs ashes too... and my sister was also ready to let her husband go and she and her daughter scattered his ashes as well.I am sure that mom was very happy they were all together. I have kept my dogs ashes for 3 years... I told my husband.... could you see if I kept mom's.. I would never let them go. Each person had a pink a balloon (breast cancer ) to let go after we scattered her ashes...

It was hard to say good bye and release her... we all cried and hugged each other. As we watched the balloons float toward the sky out of nowhere comes a jet(now you guys may not find that strange but around here you don't see anything but private planes and not that many). The trail of smoke out of the back of the jet looked pink.. I am sure that was just for mom. It was hard but everyone said they felt a sense of closure.

My sweet cousin Karen volunteered to take pictures and as you can see did a wonderful job. She took many more photos and other family members took them also... but I think they were just too personal to blog them.

This was the sweatshirt I had on.. I thought it was appropriate for mom.

We were going to have a bonfire on the beach.. but I think everyone was just to wiped out to do it.. It was the hardest thing we have ever done in our lives.. we went back to the house and relaxed. Sunday everyone stopped by to to say bye and head back to their homes (my siblings all live in Washington State).

My son and his family said they were going to head out and were going to the Portland Zoo on their way home. They created quite a stir and before you knew it, we said lets all go.... and off we went. The trip was uneventful and included Jade and his family,Roxanne and her family, Laurie & Tom and Robert and myself. Wow was it hot in Portland... there was no parking we had to walk to a shuttle area... take the shuttle to the Zoo. Yikes.. Who's bright idea was this!! Actually everyone had a good time and you know... seeing the new baby elephant was so worth how hot it was.

On the way home we stopped at Camp 18 for dinner, We had the greatest waiter... he kept us laughing all night.

Monday morning Laurie brought brought coffee and breakfast for Florence and myself before heading home. They finally got out of here by 1pm and made it safely home. It was Robert's birthday so he took the day off and played golf with his best friend Monte.

It was so hard when everyone left... I am told to take a day at a time. Some days it is hour by hour. This is a poem I found on the Internet... says it all...

I wanted to thank you again for all the prayers.

I wish I could have expressed myself better with this post... it feels flat and it deserves more. I wanted it to be more celebratory that she is in heaven and happy.. I truly believe that... but it still hurts to not have her here in the physical.

I have been trying and trying to figure out why when I go on my blog the photos are there and sometimes they are not... have you had a problem with that or is it just me?

The rain has started! I hope it is going to be a mild winter.

I noticed my husband was wearing a purple ribbon on his uniform today... I asked him if that was for domestic violence and he said yes. I asked if he would wear a pink one because it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month... he told me he would.... whoooo hooo, what a man I have.

Friday night Robert and I and Andrew (of course Bug) went for a long walk.. we walk from our house to the Ocean and back. We walked by the new Library so we decided to sneak in and see if we could see the tiles we had made for my Mom and my brother in law Shayne. We were told that they were not together but close to each other... we were so happy to see they were right next to each other. I don't know if someone moved them after we asked or what.. but we are thrilled and I know Mom and Shayne are. We then continued to walk to the beach and I took a couple more photos.. There was a event on the beach where they were seeing how far your dog could jump and land in a huge pool of water. Of course everyone that walked by us would ask if we were going to enter Bug in the event. : )

It was nice to go outside enjoy the air, and feel like things were normal for a little while.. Have a great Weekend.

Please continue to keep me and my siblings and family on your prayer list... we are all having such a rough time.. We miss mom so much.. and it is really hard to imagine her physical presence not here.

I know where she is... I know she is so much happier than she has been in her entire life... but I still miss her. I am having a hard time talking to anyone .. so I have been just staying home.

I had a coffee event this weekend that we promised we would do and I did the first day and could not hardly make it through it. Robert did today and I stayed in bed most of the day.

Please hang in there... I know that I will return to my old self... I am just struggling right now..

I wanted to thank so many people but I don't want to do it on this post.. I want it to be when my mind is clear. I truly have been blessed with the most wonderful people in my life, I thank you for that.

Mom felt good when she woke up. We visited and had coffee... My sister and her daughter came over .. her daughter painted mom's finger nails a very pretty pink. Then we made dinner... I made salmon with that we had garlic potatoes and we picked up a Caesar salad at Costco and it was yummy. Then we made strawberry shortcake... yum o... as Rachel Ray would say. My sister Laurie came by for a visit and we gave mom a shower and gave her a massage... and slathered her with lotion.. she was in heaven.

Sunday was a good day for mom... my brother and his wife came over for a visit... both sisters came by we had a full house... then we hear a knock at the door.. and there is mom doctor... he stayed for quite awhile and mom loved it... he is really quite funny... very dry and I mean dry sense of humor... he is from the east coast... I think that is why he really likes mom. I was so happy that he came over, it meant so much to her.. he told us he would check back before he leaves for vacation to see what meds she might need while he is gone. I took a picture of him while he was here.

Probably starting Thursday... it is going to be crazy here.. the Hydro races start and there are so many people here you cant go anywhere.

Monday my daughter Roxane and her two daughters came for a visit while my grandson was in drivers training... I know what you all are thinking... I am not old enough to have a grandson that old... hehe... I am not.. I tell you I am not! .. really I am not! It was a great visit.

after they left.. I took mom for a ride through Columbia Park along the Columbia River... lots of memories down there.. I use to take my son fishing down there.. we took the kids to the playground more times then I could count. We saw many hydroplane races, and rode our jet ski's every summer on the Columbia River.

We drove all over Kennewick an looked at all the different houses that Robert and I and the kids lived in.. and what people have done to change them. Mother really enjoyed seeing them. We drove around new housing developments. Housing is so inexpensive here. But it couldn't ever replace Seaside.

We then headed over to my sister Florence's to see what she was up to.. and told her that we wanted dinner.... *grin*... so she fixed us dinner and I fell asleep in her big chair for about 20 minutes. We had a nice dinner and visit... then we headed home to bed.

I had such awesome gifts waiting for me on the table when I got home... I had mail from many friends in Seaside... and a book from one of them.. I cant tell you how nice that was. THANK YOU !

Please bare with me if you have not gotten a response to an email... I try to get to them as quickly as I can. I do love getting them so please... don't stop.

Tuesday morning we were woke up with someone banging on the door... we all got home and ran to the door... another wonderful surprise.. My sweet adorable husband send a bouquet of flowers to my mother and one to me... we both were so excited.. what a great way to wake up. I made some lasagne .. because this morning my brother told me he was tired of the girly stuff I was making... he wanted some BEEF... *grin*

ok... so I really didn't make it.. I bought it from Costco... good.... my sister Laurie came over to visit and she brought some yummy garlic bread.

I really should get some sleep.. but when mom goes to sleep it is my time to unwind then I tend to stay up too late. Good night.. : )

The hot weather is melting me....

These are flowers that my sisters bought me when they went shopping while we were in Seaside... so beautiful.

So I know I keep complaining about the heat... but come on... it is hot here.. My whining must have helped... my brother went out and bought a AC unit for the bedroom mom and I are in... Praise GOD... I am telling you... the first night in a month that I was actually able to sleep. My mother said today it was cold... and I told her she better not say a word. *grin* Thank you brother.

Mom has been having a pretty rough time since we came back to Tri-Cities... she has been getting sick a lot and sleeping a lot.. it was making me feel very sad. She tells me she just wants to go to sleep and not wake up.

Yesterday when she woke up I had her get up and put on a fresh outfit instead of PJ's and I took her to see her husband... she ended up getting sick there so we returned home. She woke up late in the evening and Her and I had a wonderful evening of chatting and laughing.. we really enjoyed it... then we watched a movie until 2am... we had popcorn.. then brother came home and yelled at us to go to bed... lol we stopped our movie and we finished it tonight.

She is tired... but feeling good tonight. I really wish that she would get better and be healed.. it is such a hard thing to watch. I hope you all don't think this is a bummer... I am not sad all the time.. I have very sad moments.. but I am hanging in there. I think it helps to journal it... even though I didn't like I should have in the beginning but I couldn't get out of my own way for the first month... I was wiped out. I am going to start having someone stay with mom so I can get out a little bit. She is really pressing me to get out more also.. it is just hard to do, I hate leaving her. I had my first outing today... lol... well tonight.. my sister and I went to Costco to do some shopping.. and my sister kept telling me ... come on hurry up... lol.. I told her this is my first outing... leave me alone.

We have spent time going through her closet and going through her clothes and getting rid of everything that looked like it was 50 years old, It made her feel good.

While she is sleeping and I am not cleaning or organizing I surf the web. lol.. I am not really looking for anything ... lots of scrapbook stuff... and mindless stuff so I don't have to think. Although I did come across this...

I am not really ready to buy anything... but my mom and I drove by and took a peek in a lot after we found it online.. it sure is cute.. but I really wanted to buy a hybrid...so I don't know what to do.. so I will do nothing for now. I will see what Robert thinks of it when he comes down next weekend... woohooo for 3 days... I am so excited. I am going to sign off for tonight ... or this morning... lol.. what ever it is. Trying to catch up...

Mom and I had a good trip heading to Seaside.. my sister Laurie and her husband Tom and my sister Florence and her daughter all came down on Friday, They arrived very late and very tired.

Jade Deb and the boys came down for the night on Sunday... they cooked awesome meals.. mom really enjoyed herself.. she was so happy to see them and the boys were all over her and loving on her. We had a great time. They headed to the beach and the carousel. the rest of us took a nap. Thank you for the awesome meals Jade and Deb.

I don't remember where this fit in... but Jade and Robert put up a great temporary fence for the puppies and they loved and we did also.. we could just leave the door open and they went in and out. They did such a great job.

Jade & family went to do a little last minute shopping and then headed home.

After our nap we headed out to sunset beach. Mom really enjoyed herself even though she wasn't up to getting out. We later went to the cove and enjoyed the sunset.

Mom really was not feeling well and wanted to go home early.. but she woke up on Wednesday and said she was feeling better and wanted to stay until Friday.

The trip back to Washington was a very long one.. it seemed like we were never going to get home.

Deer at the beach.

The deer wandered out to see what everyone was doing in town... and everyone was freaking out to see them by the beach.. there were tourist taking pictures like crazy,

I hope you all had a great fourth of July.. it ended up getting cloudy but it was still beautiful to watch the fireworks. Robert worked all day trying to protect our city.. nothing earth shattering happened. They had a couple lost children but were able to reunite everyone quickly he said.

Mom had a rough day today.. but she did wake up to see the fireworks and loved them. She could see them through the window sitting on the couch so that was nice. There was a lovely cool breeze blowing through the windows. We are going to take mom out to Sunset Beach tomorrow, you are allowed to drive on the beach there.. .so we can get mom right up to the water.

Today my nerves are a little rattled...probably from being tired and over heated. Mom fell again today.. this time when no one was in the room, and early today she was very sick. She told me she didn't care she was still going to the Coast so here we come. Please pray she will have a calm drive to my house.

Everyone has been asking about Bug... and he is here with me... he doesn't care too much for th hot hot heat.. but he does being able to go out and play in a fenced yard... the first picture is of him having a ice cream treat and he loved it, he even knew to eat the cone. The second picture is of Bug and Joey.. they are always running like crazy... then they crash like this. sooo cute.

Can you believe that another month is almost gone. Wow We did make it to 103 degrees.. I had forgotten what that felt like.. it was just too hot to be outside.. my sisters lawn man usually comes over in the after noon and mows her lawn.. needless to say...he came by and said it was just way too hot.. which we didn't blame him at all.

Mom ended up having a really rough night last night... she was so sick.. and this morning she wasn't feeling the greatest either. I think she really wanted to go to the ER last night.. but then she said she would wait a little while. She slept very well and later today she started perking up pretty good.. I hope she is still going to want to go home to Seaside with us.

I was sitting outside in Florence's back yard and it was 10pm and 85 degrees... and a slight breeze and I closed my eyes and memories came flooding back to me.. it was so sweet.. It felt like the hot nights we would have when we lived on W 21st in Kennewick. I remember Robert and I laying together in the hammock by the pool.. I loved that it felt so good to go back to that place even if it was only for a moment.

We are spending the night again at my sisters... but I think we will go home tomorrow late afternoon.. I think mom likes to be in her own house I know how that is when you don't feel good. I think that it will be a bit cooler starting Tuesday.
