Mom...
I thought of you today.
But that is nothing new.
I thought of you Yesterday.
And will tomorrow too.
I think of you in silence
and make no outward
show.
For what it meant to lose
you, only those who love you
know.
Remembering you is easy.
I do it everyday
Its the heartache of losing you
that will never go away!
Love and miss you!
Oh how my heard aches for your loss Joy. You need only ask and I'll phone or chat.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Barb
What a beautiful yet sad poem. I can only imagine the pain your heart is feeling from your loss. I tell my mom all the time, I don't know how I will go on without her. That mother daughter bond is so strong.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! To answer your question, I got the drawer cubes at Michaels. They were on clearance from $37.99 to $14.99. Since I knew I was going to redo the area, I snatched up 6 cubes. Thank you for the compliment, it is greatly appreciated.

Hi Joy, I saw your comment on Kelly Rae Roberts blog and it hit me hard. I so relate to your situation ~ it's only 3 yrs. since I lost my beloved mom. I love the poem you wrote, I hope you won't mind if I write it down for myself. It was written so beautifully and is so true. I too moved to my mom's house to take care her during her battle w/ breast cancer. She was 71 and my best buddy, we did everything together and I learned so much from her. After she passed I thought I was doing so well but in hindsight it was more of a numbness. The first year is just so difficult and tender; the first time of holidays without our moms, when their birthday comes and for me, when mother's day came. It was the first time in my life that I didn't need to buy a mother's day card and I was heartbroken. It was such an unexpected hit. A wonderful friend listened, understood and then told me to go ahead and buy one for her and keep with my special keepsakes of hers.It was a huge relief to think of it that way.
ReplyDeleteBe gentle with yourself and let yourself grieve. It's the best way to go through the process and it's different for each person. There's no right or wrong or only way to deal with such a loss.
You're definitely in my thoughts and prayers. A sad sisterhood to be sure.
p.s. my best friend is a Barb too! A funny little quinkidink.
With hugs, Jill
Jill... thank you for the lovely post.. I just wanted to let you know.. I did not write the poem... I found it on the web somewhere and I was searching and searching and I cant remember for the life of me where I found it. There were so many and that one was how I was feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi Joy...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my blog and I'm so, so, so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you, too, and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...

Joy,
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you. I appreciated your comment on my blog so much. I don't think a girl can ever prepare to lose their mama. They live on in us though, which is a comfort.
I hope you find some peace and know a prayer has gone up in your behalf.
With love,
~Jennifer P.
